Abt Electronics
I believe that I can say, without exaggeration, that I have officially died and gone to electronics heaven. Seriously! (Okay, a little exaggeration. I am still breathing.)
Abt Electronics not only has appliances, electronics, computers, cameras, TV and video equipment - they have a gourmet kitchen shop! But, I'll have to save that department for another day, I am on the hunt for something else: a room air purifier! And Abt didn't disappoint me.
Mark and Michael have seasonal allergies; I have allergies all year long. Our complex just ruled that residents cannot smoke outside their apartments, so we now have 2 indoor smokers. It's too hot to open the windows, at any time of day, so we're pretty much recycling the smoke and allergens. Add to all of that, the fact that we live about 2 blocks from the freeway, on a busy north-south road, and you know we're breathing a lot of things that are really bad for us. A room air purifier is just logical in our situation.
There were no surprises at Abt. They provided the specifications for each of the models, as well as product details, accessories, and customer reviews. I think reviews are so helpful. No matter what the manufacturer says, a satisfied or dissatisfied customer will tell you what you need to know. None of the reviews I read were anything, but satisfied, which says a lot about the store.
Of course, so does 70 years in the business and a page full of accolades from manufacturers, merchants associations, electronics publications, and consumer protection groups. If you look around the site, you'll find a lot to recommend them - free shipping, free tech support, buying guides, available rebates, Guidester shopping tools, and even an outlet store.
If you're in the market for anything electronic, you have to visit Abt Electronics. You just can't go wrong.
